Showers, Gifts and Lists....OH MY!

Today was such a great day....I had the honor of share hosting a shower for two ladies that I had the pleasure of meeting through my Junior League. The shower was a shared shower where each person was responsible for bringing or doing something for the event. My contribution was a fondant cake along with drinks. Since one lady is having a boy and the other a girl, pink and blue was a common thread throughout the event. For this reason, I made homemade pink and blue lemonade to drink. For the cake, I did a pink and blue layer and then had both colors on the cake. I am no cake decorating expert but I think that it turned out pretty cute!

My gifts to the two ladies was a handmade diaper caddy, filled with diapers and wipes and three burp cloths. I packaged them up with a simple ribbon in a coordinating color. The moms-to be loved the gifts which was my goal. One burp cloth of the three included a little pocket to hold a binkie :)

Finishing this event means that two things are crossed off my to do list, that I posted back in early September. I also found some time to finish up Kayden's hair bows for the fall...that makes three things gone and many more to go!

Have a great night!

Angela, you are TOO sweet! The cake was delicious but they had to compete with cake pops so I have half left!!! Can I put you a slice or two in the mail?!?!?!?!

Thanks Mel! I just put a slice in priority mail for you. I am not responsible for the condition of the cake once it arrives :)

These turned out very nice. I remember when you shared the fabric. The cake was a nice way to have both genders, kind of like a half and half pizza!
I am sure your league members enjoyed it!

We have 2 members in our small group expecting later in 2012, therefore it will be a year of showers in our small group as well!
