My First Quilt

While I was away trudging through real life, I found some time to complete my first quilt! When a dear friend announced that she was pregnant with baby number 2 after eight years of trying, and at the age of 42, I knew that I wanted to gift her with something handmade. After completing the quilt, with LOTS of help from my local quilt expert, Mel, I decided to make a few burp cloths to match. I was REALLY happy with how it turned out!

I used a quilt pattern, recommended by Mel, that I found over at Sew Mama Sew. I chose modern fabrics in pinks, blue and brown. The thing that I enjoy(ed) most about the quilting process if the coordination of fabrics. The only thing that I may have changed was the intensity of the brown squares, as they seem to be a little overpowering. But, perfection is not what I was after, so I was okay. Just wanted to send her something that she knew was made with love :)

Have a great day!
