I found the fabric at Ikea on a weekend trip to Baltimore and I was inspired to create the "bird on branch" design from the pattern on the fabric. I was happy with how it turned out...so much that EVERYONE is getting one of these stationery portfolios for Christmas!

Happy Birthday Melanie
About two weeks ago, my fabulous friend Mary sent me a link to some FREE Amy Butler patterns. Three of my favorite words in one sentence; Amy and Butler and FREE!!! As a creator of paper goods, I feel in love with the stationery portfolio and decided to sew one of these do dads for my friend Melanie for her 32nd birthday. She had just become a Mrs. the previous weekend and expressed an interest in some new paper products that displayed her new name. So, after a good read of my sewing machine manual, some six short years after its purchase, I was blessed to create a portfolio that was worthy of mailing. Thanks to Mary for that bit of advice...I hate to read directions/instructions!!!
